Imari porcelain was rst created at the beginning of the Edo period 400 years ago in Arita, located in Kyushu. In the early modern period in Japan during the 17th century , Imarinjoyedexposive , widespread popularity due to its abundant variety of colors and decorative designs. This book presents the distinctive features of Koimari and traces the evolution of styles through the early, mature, and  nal periods of its production.
