The power of images: the first collection by an exciting new art director.

Art director and graphic designer Naonori Yago has made a name for himself through a diverse portfolio of work including CD jackets, books, and bold and jubilant advertising for the LaForet Harajuku fashion building in Tokyo. Basara is the Japanese term for an aesthetic celebrating flamboyance and excess, and so the title of his first collection is a cry of protest against the functionalism pervading Japanese graphic design today. Includes discussions between Yago and photographer Kishin Shinoyama, art critic Noi Sawaragi, and Experimental Jetset.
