Yu Yamauchi originally traveled to Mongolia thinking to photograph nomads living in harmony with nature. But that was before he was brought face to face with the many other parallel worlds existing in that land: glittering modern cities, mines evoking images from Genesis, deserts with a futuristic look that nonetheless seem somehow comfortingly familiar.
