Chika Higashi started Coci la elle in 2010, a one-item only shop for hand-made parasols–parasols that are painted or festooned with embroidery. Currently Coci la elle produces umbrellas and scarfs with original prints, and also a range of accessories. The brand name is a nuanced reference to the Japanese term 拵える–koshiraeru, to make.
